Love That Dirty Water

Once Boston is in your blood, it's always home, even if you don't live there.  At least that's how it is for us.  After years of being away, we were finally able to visit Boston as a family and it as wonderful as we remembered and a perfect breath of air for our souls.

We took a Boston Duck Tour - the original Duck Tour and it was a lot of fun.  The most enjoyable part for all of us was when the kids took over steering the Duck (Frog Pond Lilly) while in the Charles River.

Noah got to drive us under the Longfellow Bridge (aka the salt & pepper bridge), and he managed to not crash, which we were all happy about.

We got to visit with my old co-workers and friends - Audrey & Bonnie and bits of their families.  The kids loved everyone, but were most taken with the Bergan's dog, Checkers.

My old college friend and roommate, Jamie, was able to meet up with us and tour all our old haunts on the North Shore, including Cherry Farm Creamery which was the ice cream of our teens & 20s and beyond.

The Lewises hosted a BBQ for some of our Park Street friends.  Someone once said that you can't make old friends, you can only keep them.  These people, this gathering, this place - so much love and history captured in one place.

When old friends become new again.  It was so fun to see the girls running around together as if no time had ever passed.

Dave and Lanna Lewis.  They raised a great son, Jeff and all of them have been dear to our family supporting and loving us through the years.  We were so honored that they stopped by the BBQ to visit for a little.
